New Year, new content! Time to spice things up a bit and give you guys a glimpse behind the curtain. Whilst I love sharing my THE WEEKLY WISH LIST and THE FRIDAY FIT I want to take you deeper into the how and why of great style. I’m shifting our focus to give you a true insider’s look at my work as a digital stylist on INDYX.

Introducing…. THE CLIENT EDIT

Instead of just links, I’m opening up my professional playbook. Each week, I’ll be sharing a real-world styling brief from private sessions with my clients - from building the perfect travel capsule, to solving the nothing to wear dilemma for high-stakes events.

This week lets focus on one of my clients and a trip she had booked in the diary. The key advice I can give you here is to pack for your destination whilst also keeping a firm eye on your own style. I am written about this in the past but please remember you do not need to become ‘vacay you’. You do not need a whole different wardrobe that doesn’t speak to your personal style. You don’t need to buy clothes just for a vacation, of course feel free to buy a few bits to get excited about but do keep in mind that they still need to work in your day to day life as much as possible.

Key areas to focus on when packing for your vacay…

TRAVEL LOOKS - Aim for comfortable and put together and keep in mind dirty airports and airport bathrooms. We do not want to be wearing wide pants for example that are going to be impossible to stop from dangling into the mystery puddle in an airport bathroom.

FUNCTIONALITY - Pieces that can be styled multiple ways. This isn’t code for boring, this is code for versatile.

TONAL - The key to packing light is to ensure your pieces work with each other. That doesn’t always mean sticking to neutrals, it means sticking to a colour palette that works for you.

TEMPERATURES - What temp are we going from and to? It may be you are going from a cold climate to a hot one or something pretty even from beginning to end. And always, always, pick something warm to wear on the flight. Planes are freezing.

LIFESTYLE - How are you spending your time once you are there? Mostly sightseeing? Mostly poolside with some fancy dinners? Pack for each occasion and you’ll nail it.
